The Eastern Michigan Camaro Club (EMCC) is starting there track rental season next month (May 8th). We rent out Milan Dragway the 2nd Thurday of each month from May to Oct (EXCEPT July). It is from 6 PM to 9 PM. Gates will open at 5:30 (maybe earlier). The cost is $30 per car racing. Spectators are free. The concession stand and bathrooms will be open. ALL makes and models of vehicles are welcome. We have everything from 20 second pick-up trucks to 7 second dragsters. Please reply here or send me an email if you would like to attend. It sure beats waiting all night on a normal T-N-T night to get 3 runs in. The average cars get about 15 passes. Some have gotten 25 passes in.

Matt,

Are they real tight on rules? Roll bars, etc. My buddy with the blown 56 want to know.

Toby,

The rules are very relaxed. My buddy had his Hemi Belvedere out there last year and went 11.70 on the motor and 10.97 on the spray with no roll bar. If he is safe and incontrol of the car he will be fine. A helmet is mandatory for 12.99 and faster. They will cut the 13.0 and slower cars a break on the helmet. He has to pass tech too. Basically a radiator over flow can, if the battery is in the trunk he need a disconnect switch in the rear, and possible a neutral safty switch (this one they almost never ask about). If he does not pass tech I will give him his money back. We had a 32 coupe with a blown 454 run 7.95 at 160 mph last October.

We have got to have more Camaro owners in the Detroit area that want to run on the Drag Strip with no lines to wait in.
