Getting ready to repl. the incorrect saginaw trans in my very correct other wise 69 z/28. Any thoughts on wheither it is worth the expense to find the correct dated m-21 for my car or just find a good used m-21 and put in. I want to keep the value and correctness of the car as much as possible but not sure is it worth the extra 3-500 to find the correct date coded trans???

Because your car is pretty close to correct, I would probably spend the extra $ now. As you can see from looking at prices, parts are getting higher all the time....

Todd:
I am going thru something similar on the thread below. Go for the original with as close a date you can find. They are out there. The value of a Z is the correct components.

novaderrik:
Wouldn't the rear gears need to be much higher than 3.73 with a 3.xx something first gear in the Tremec?
