I have been trying to decode an engine block i have, it is a 327, the engine ID number is:FI228EA which is on the front passenger side machined deck surface, but has no other number on that surface, which i think tells you what car it was in. The casting # is 3858180, which i have found was in 64-67 cars, thats all i could find out.

under the trans flange on the block there are more numbers in the casting:
810
Z H8 180
T
If anyone can help me decode this thing further it would be greatly appriciated, ive looked everywhere i can think, and i cant find anything

Also, the Cam that was in this motor is a Crane Fireball 296, the numbers on the end of it are:
UC B
?E? 23 F6
For the cam, i have tried their website but no luck, except i might try faxing them the numbers i have, but it isnt a valid part number, because its an old camshaft, and theyve changed everything, its a good looking cam, little wear, and id like to know the specs on it.

Thanks for any help on these topics-derek
