sandiegoz28 suggested that it was time to add a new forum as there wasn't really a spot for some of the resto questions.
This forum is designed with the quest for originality and perfectly anal questions about the 'right shade of black' are welcome.

Maybe here I could find out if my Z10 is a "real" Camaro.

Glad to see there is a spot for the anally impaired.

Nice Car Z10Joey. Did you decide to remove the black paint from the cowl, and leave the orange and white (like under the AC) or leave it black...?

Bill, thanks.
I left the black paint. The car was hidden in the South for many years disguised as a light blue RS/SS with black z28 stripes. The last 2 owners from 84' to 96' did not know what a Z10 was (still don't, neither have internet connection, contacted by phone). The original white and orange under the black is a good documentation item (I feel). The hidden stamp VIN numbers are embeded into the original paint so I didn't want to mess with that.
I will leave that stuff alone since it can't be seen from the outside (not much anyway). One of the owners in 84' told me he had the car painted because it was an ugly white with orange stripes. Owner in 96' said he sold the car for 7 or 8k , he couldn't remember.
Much of the work was done myself, I wish I could have painted it and had it done a little better.

Joey

Thumbs up

Thumbs up for the new room! Darn fine job. I see the bookcase at the end of the room is filled with plenty of reference information.

Great addition to the site guys and thanks for that Al. Creston BC huh? Neighbors! This section will be well used by members new and old I would think.

Tim.....Stop teasing me with that car. Mine is still months away from rolling. Gotta ask you this Tim, do you run this with the old Cragars or do you normally runs the rally wheels? I have seen both pictures of yours. With and without. Still a beauty!

Hey Hugger, I noticed you have a right rear-view mirror on the Z... is it a GM part? How does it fit?
