Ok so I know I am nitpicking here, but here goes.
I have 2 68's one a LOS car and the other a NOR car. I am getting ready to send their bumper jacks out for post replating and restoration. The bases and the jacking mechanisms don't match. Were 2 or more different styles used? I believe both jacks are original, but who really knows? I don't want to invest the money in doing the wrong stuff. Thanks

This has been discussed at length not too long ago. There were two mast types. A square (in cross-section) and a trapezoid shaped one. Some bases say "U69" and some were marked "U" or "I," speaking of 1969 models. I used Rustoleum #1684 Dove Grey for the ratchett, base and hook. It was a good match for the semi-gloss original paint, judging by the old paint on my jack. I also had the mast zinc plated locally.
Read the following thread and do a search for more info. Gary http://www.camaros.net/cgi-bin/forum...c;f=6;t=003961
