ok im rebuilding a 12 bolt rear.
All components are removed but I cant seem to get the pinion gear out?
seems that there is a crush sleeve preventing removal.
I tried to press it out in an arbor (4000) lbs pressure and it still didnt budge?
is there a special tool or technique for pinion removal?

That does not sound good. I looked in the Overhaul manual, and it says after removal of the drive yoke, tap the pinion out. Well, the last one I did I had to do more than tap, but sure seems like a 2 ton press would do it.( I did not need to save the pinion so I just smacked it with a baby sledge/ block of wood). I would like others to chime in. You might try re-titling your question like "stuck pinion", and put it under transmission section.
