After 14 long and tiring months, my car is finally going back together. After the cars undercarriage was painted on the rotisserie this past week, a good buddy and I went out and we got the sub frame and 12 bolt back onto the cars body. Painting has begun and should be 100% complete within 2 weeks from now with most of the trim installed. (knock on wood)

Man this is feeling good now. It just renewed my long love for first generation F Bodied Camaro's!!!

Here is the link to the updated pictures posted on my web site.

Nice job! I know how you feel! If I may quote an old friend and restorer while I was doing my resto. "Don't rush it!!! You'll know why when it's done" I didn't and I do.

I hear you on that note Jim. Taking my time with it actually. I didn't like the firewall color so last night I sanded and prepped it to repaint it in a low lustre finish. (Marhyde). The floors I can live with although they are also a bit to shinny. I am sure that it will fade after time on the under carriage.

The paint should be on the body by Saturday and we will then mask the stripes till their perfect before the paint goes on. I had the painter spray a few sample cards and I just could not go with the Rallye Green as I did not like it so therefore went with the color I am happy owning. Hugger Orange is what it will be after all the bantering back and forth.

At least I'll be happy with it and thats what is important at the end of the day. If I ever sell it, I'll leave it up to the new owner to keep it orange or paint it Green. Let me know when you come to town and you can have a look Jim. Later!

I'll be there on the 21st. Don't know if I'll have time to look that day but I probably will before I fly out on June6th. I'll e-mail you when it gets closer. I don't like the Rally green either. Paint the car the color you want. It doesn't sit well with some of the restoration guy's but I like to look back over my shoulder after I park my car and like what I see.

I know exactly how you feel. When I got my body rolling after so many years, it got me pumped up to go and work even harder on my car. I think the funnest part of the resto is putting it back together. It took me a while to get all the electrical straightened out so everything worked again. I finally heard the horns for the first time ever! Keep plugging away.

Awwww! Darn the luck! Rallye Green loses out in the end! Oh well, Hugger Orange will look good too. You will have to update the colors on your website.

(LMAO) I feel your frustration Dave, but you know what this is all about. It's like Jim said, and like a good friend of mine told me. "You're the one that has to own it, and you're the one that has to drive it so make damn sure it's the color you want it to be".

Yup it's orange. Jambs and parts are painted today and we will leave it cure a couple days before mounting the front clip and aligning the parts. The paint date is now back a few days as we are blocking it out a few times to get the body mirror straight. Next Saturday or Sunday the pictures will be updated to my web site.

As for the color of the site, no need to worry as I will be launching my new web site by that time (Friday). Watch for it as it will look awesome and I can't wait for all of you to see it live. The site will most likely become the largest and most thurough restoration web site on the net and I am sure that many will freak when they see the size of it. I am shooting for this to be the most comprehensive restoration site online and it will house thousands of detailed pictures of 1969 restorations.

I would be happy to add a few of Jonesy's pictures in there too when the building of the site gets further along. Talk to you all soon and thanks for the encouragement.

JIM, the car wil likely be 90% complete when you are out so maybe we can go for a scream in it if all goes well. (woohoo)

Graeme

You would be welcome to use my pics. I actually have more pics, I just had to try to be selective as there are already over 250 pictures of my resto on my hobbystage site.
