I am restoring my bellcrank and bought the frame side bushing kit with 3 nylon bushings and spring clip. For the life of me i can't figure out why there are 3 bushings. From what I see in my Rick's catalog picture breakdown it looks like you'll need one bushing inside the bellcrank then the ballstud then another bushing then clip on the frame side. Well, if i do that then, the outer bushing sticks way outside the edge of the bellcrank and the clip will be redundant. The way it came apart was ballstud then bushing then clip. On the blockside of the bellcrank, I'm only assuming that there is a bushing in side as well but there wasn't one when I took the bellcrank apart. Can someone detail this out for me? I also purchased the felt seals and I am curious about those too. THANKS!!

The diagram in the catalog is correct, but you have to look at it closely. On the frame side, it's bushing, ball stud, bushing, retainer clip, felt seal, frame bracket, washer, and nut. There's no bushing on the engine side - it just slides over the ball stud on the engine (that has a square-section rubber washer behind the ball).

The bushings on the frame side are directional - chamfered side against the ball.

Thanks John...I tried it the way the factory assembly manual shows it and unless I'm not pushing everything in hard enough there's no way i'll get that clip on.
