Can anyone make an estimate on how much would it cost to restore an original engine for '68 Camaro?

Thank you

Len

"Depends!!!"
I just rebuilt my CE coded COPO motor (short block only) for about $1500. That's 600 for forged piston engine kit from Summit, and 800 for machine shop. ( clean and check, bore +.030, turn crank, balance, and blueprint). Spent 100 on new bolts, etc.
I reused my cam and heads which had about 1 hour run time on them from my previous 427 two bolt, but the valve job and other minor head work cost about $300, and the cam, lifters springs and pushrods cost another $250.
Holley carb with rebuild and redye was about $300.
