I have seen some yenko clones before. What are they worth if they are done right and are they worth alot more than a non numbers matching car of the same quality? I just can't see spending the extra money that it seems you have to for one. Of course me and everyone else would love to have a real one someday! Happy New Year to all!!!

There probably worth more than an equivalent quality numbers matching 6 cylinder or most small blocks, Z28 excepted, just because they have a big block in them. Are they worth more than 40K, probably not. Mid 30's maybe for an exceptional one with dated parts done correctly but otherwise, probably mid 20's to low 30's for nice ones. Just my .02 cents, everyones mileage will vary.

I agree with you. It just seems that the people who have clones think there worth a mint and that the "other" camaros are not. My thinking is that it isn't much different than putting Z/28 emblems and a small block in a 6 cylinder coupe. If the numbers all match, then you've got something. If not, then there all the same. Just my .02...

In my opinion the Yenko stripes do not add any value to a clone. The value of a Yenko Camaro clone would depend on the parts used to assemble the car. To some extent the value would be the sum of the parts. For example the value would be pretty high if it was built with all 1969 date coded parts like the "512" block, "840" heads, "499" dist. "163" intake, correct Holley, cowl air filter assembly,
deep grove pulleys, correct trans, OEM shifter, etc. If you take a average looking $25K BB Camaro built with repro and aftermarket parts and slap on some Yenko stripes - You have a $25K Yenko clone. I think a correctly done L78 clone would be worth the same as a correctly done Yenko clone. I would rather have the L78 clone.

My Yenko Tribute car.... errr Clone, is insured by Haggerty for $40,000. It has a 512 CE 427 motor, correct from pan to carb, original, absolutely correct cowl induction air cleaner. Thanks to KevinW for the info. Virtually all parts are pristine original or NOS (including an NOS dash pad - Thanks again to Kevin.) Paint is one of the 6 Yenko colors....I could go on and on.

Not trying to puff up my car, but rather make the point that clones are becoming more appreciated by buyers, and insurers. Clone cars have historically been looked down upon by many as "fakes" and by association, clone car owners were "fakers" The number of folks feeling that way is diminishing.

I just sold my 69 Yenko replica and thought that the market value was around $32k to $40k for a correct looking car.

I think this is fair market value, although I have seen some priced in $40k to $60k range but they dont seem to sell.
I know that Yenko didnt sell a Cortez Silver one, but I had originally intended on making this car a COPO replica but when I had it about finished, people didnt like the very plain look so I went YENKO. Then the car got all the attention I could stand everywhere I went with it, as most of the general public didnt understand the COPO thing. Hope this helps -

Isn't a car - clone or not, worth whatever the buyer is willing to pay for it ... not really what a seller thinks they sould get? I would think that is what would set the value of the car ... what's it worth to the person buying the car, clone or not.

Shoot, I use to joke with my buddies that it seemed like ever '69 Camaro ever made must have been a Z28 ... At lease it seemed they were all badged that way The crime, or rip off here, IMO, is when some one try's to pawn off a "clone" car as the real deal to make the extra bucks falsely.
