I pulled my 1969 Camaro out of the barn yesterday and was looking it over. The guy I bought the car from said a few owners ago had installed a RS front end on it (it currently has a standard front end, well grill and headlights anyways).
With the battery out, I looked all over the front fender for the extra bracket RS fenders have. I could not see anything, but I am not sure extactly what I am looking for. Does anyone have a picture of what this bracket looks like?

The fenders have tabs on them shown in this 1st pic that are different to adapt to the RS headlight buckets.
Extra brackets ? might be the actuator brackets that are underneath the inner fender in front of the tires? They are the long narrow ones at the bottom of the parts in the 2nd photo here. Hope this helps. ![]()

I did not know the brackets were all the way at the front. I will have to stick my flashlight up under their tonight and check. You are talking about those 3 mounting tabs at the front of your fender?
Looks like you did a good job cleaning up your inner fenders.

Click,
Im in the process of installing my RS equipment back into my 69.. The problem is that everything was apart when I bought the car and I have no Idea what goes where, where parts bolt up to and what parts are missing (if any)... Would you have pics or step by step instructions of how everything goes back together? Thanks Josh

Factory assembly manual is very handy in this situation. Most things are illustrated in there.

been looking through the manual but I think it would be more clear to see actual photos if anyone has them.

Ok, I got the flashlight out and took a look. I definatly have the large tab on the top of the front of the fender the has no corresponding hole for my standard grill. I have the two smaller tabs along the side that look like they are used. I couldn't really see if I have the bottom bracket.
Does having the top large tab signify I have RS fenders?

I have the AIM manual and pretty much follow it, I dont have pics of piece by piece dismanteling as I found pretty much the parts are one location only, nothing seems to fit unless it belongs there. Id suggest follow the AIM but if you get stuck on a part, then pics would help us understand what you are having trouble with. Ive never seen any step by step instructions at all. Im sure we can help get you thru it. Since Ive not seen regular fenders apart I cant comment on having the large tab means RS for sure. My guess is yes an unused tab means its an RS fender. Non RS fender would not have the extra tabs if I recall correctly.
