Question Spyware program recommondations

I have been using "SpySubtract" on my computer and I am still finding stuff. I have Norton and i am happy with it, I am just not to sure about my spyware program. Are there any recommondations out there to improve on what I have? I am basicly computer stupid, so any help is appreciated.

Adaware seems to do ok and it is free.

I downloaded Spybot and used it for awhile... but I'm really not sure if it actually does anything. If I run multiple scans in a very short period of time it just finds the same things over and over again... and that is after I "immunize."

Currently I'm using Webroot Spy Sweeper. It is a pay product, but I get it free through the school.

Follow this guys recommendations..... http://securitytango.com/tango.php

Keep your virus definitions up-to-date.

You're NEVER gonna get rid of spyware. It'll always creep back in no matter what. Just schedule yourself a periodic preventive maintenance program and stick to it. Dump Internet Explorer and move to Mozilla Firefox and you'll be surprized at the difference as well.

Microsoft has their own product now - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/ and look for Windows AntiSpyware. As much as I'm not a Micro$oft fan, I do have to say I like this program so far. It's like an antivirus program - it will keep itself up to date, you can schedule scans. We tell people to use four things - Spybot (I too am starting to question it, but it's free...), Ad-Aware, some of the new versions of Norton/Symantec will serach for spyware but you have to search for "expanded" threats and that's not turned on be default, at least not the version we have. I've added the Microsoft program to the list and so far no complaints...

After you run the program you have to "fix the problems", that is delete them from your hard drive with that button. Then you immunize to protect from any potential problems. Spybot search and destroy is a good program and one of the more popular ones.

I run Hitman-Pro, it is a program that is installs several good spyware programs (including Spybot ans Ad-Aware!) on your computer and runs (and updates!) them for you. After it is installed you just hit the button and watch the magic happen! I recommend this highly!!

It is a dutch written program, but all the programs that are run by it are in english. Do a search on google and you'll find it, even with english instructions.

BTW it is shareware so it's free...
