Default LS1 Headers

Any opinions on the best street header (ceramic coated) I should use on my 2002 LS1 (6-speed manual) Camaro? I am looking for plenty of low end torque and want power from 1500 - 5500 RPM

Header size, Brand, etc

THANKS

Fuzz,

I would try LS1tech.com for your car. There is a lot of information over there if you can get through the bickering.

almost every ls1 header out there is the 1 3/4" primary, so you don't have much choice in the way of size. however after installing a few sets, jethot is basically a hooker header with the thicker exhaust flange, and a better location for the o2s iirc. The patriot headers are a cheap entry level design, and are poorly located so they rest on the k member. becuase of this they send false knock readings to the knock sensors and the k member needs to be cleearanced for them, so i'd stay away if at all possible.

and on almost every long tube you end up having to grind a small casting block off the driver side for clearance issues.

good luck

edit: from the research we have gathered and reading on other people's experience you cannot go wrong with a set of the hookers and then have them coated, or the jethots (which run a little higher but are worht it.) and steer clear of the patriots if possible.

Hooker/Jet Hot 1 3/4" LT's are a good set of long tubes, but if you want the highest quality I would go with either QTP or Kooks LT's. With best of quality also comes highest in price. You won't go wrong with either three of the headers. Good luck.
