Cool Quick Question

I have a 2001 V-6 Camaro and I am having a problem with the transmission grinding for a second when shifting to reverse. I have heard that this year and model had nothing built in to the transmission to keep this from happening. Any ideas what what this might be? Thanks

Try shifting to 4th gear before going into reverse. This action will stop the clustershaft from rotating, because the reverse gear is not in motion.

Yeah, that's good advice, reverse is non-synchronized, just a straight cut gear.

Also make sure your clutch hydraulics are operating fully.

Thanks for the advice I can keep it from grinding as long as I shift into another gear first. Thanks
