Great article in HOT ROD this month, June, which covers trends in our "industry", meaning muscle cars. All things run in cycles, mostly very predictable. Our cars are on the beginning of a major upswing in collectibility/value. The article mentioned the "Hollywood" factor which is not really leading this trend, but mirroring and boosting it. What made me think of this was the movie, STEPFORD WIVES, which I saw last night.

Basic premise of the movie is this: An ideal community run by men, where the wives are drop dead gorgeous, wait lavishly on their men, keep impeccable houses, only shop for the neccessities, and are goddesses in bed. In other words... HEAVEN.

And what do you think the men were driving and had parked in their exclusive men's club in this paradise, this ideal man's world? Wasn't Beemers, wasn't weener cars...

MUSCLE CARS.

My apologies to the feminine owners of classics... this was Hollywood after all.

so in the movie, it's kinda like living in a real life, tamed down version of the Man Show? interesting..

Saw that with the girlfriend, kinda funny... but the CARS were way underplayed.

All the women drove the exact same (literally) beige SUV.

All the guys had "Man Cars". Lambos, Ferraris, Corvettes, and if you pay attention you see the 1st gen 'vert (69 i think), at least 1 chevelle, and a few other examples of old school muscle.

So I guess there wasn't any Gremlin's or Pacer's (or even a Pinto)?

I saw that movie a while back...the guys used "hi-tech" microchips to control the women.
That WOULD be pretty cool. No more "Hey *%$%-head, you left the seat up AGAIN! It'd be more like: "Honey, can I flip that up for you?" lol

Dream world, yea kinda... But a female like them would bore me in a couple of months. I like women who have a mind of their own. BUT the cars very great!!!
