A while back I posted about finding a place that sold annular boosters for Holley carbs. I had seen other Holley carbs on production vehicles (early 80's)that had the annular boosters in the primary side and knew that it was a good idea.
Recently I read the article in Car Craft that showed results between a down-leg and annular carb run back to back on the same motor, and how much more power the annular carb produced at lower RPM (which is exactly where most street driven cars really need it). Someone on this site posted a reply that talked about the 4010 line of Holleys. I went on a hunt and found what I think is a good deal on a 4010 750 CFM DP. I got it in the mail today. This carb is aluminum I believe, with a polished finish. Annular boosters in all 4 venturi. Mechanical secondaries. One of the first things I noticed upon removal from the box is how clean the casting is. No extra flash, or unfinished surfaces. I could not believe how light the box was when it arrived and now after removing the actual carb itself, I am blown away by how much lighter this thing is compared to my old 3310-2. I plan on installing it in the next week or so. I know it will need some tuning as I had to tune the squirter and pump cam on my current carb, but am hopeful that this will be a better match for my current set up. My attraction was based on cost. The demons and HP's were too far out of my financial grasp for a "trial" basis, but at $65 for this carb, I could not pass on it. I am very pleased with how the carb looks, and am anxious to see how it will perform. Will reply back to let everyone know it goes. Hope everyone is as happy with their new parts purchases as I am! Take care.

Yes it was E-Bay. The guy wanted $150 and had no bidders with 3 days left on the auction. I sent an e-mail offering him $65 and he accepted it.
Now let's just hope that this thing does not have some fatal flaw that I will spend weeks attempting to cure.. That seems to be my luck. I get a good deal on something and end up spending more in the end trying to fix it than it would have cost just to purchase a new one from the get go.
