Barry Setzer was a businessman in the North Carolina knitting mills. He put together race teams in Pro Stock and Funny Car and they were top of the line teams with Bruce Walker wrenching on and driving the Camaro Pro Stocker and later a small block Vega. His funny car if I remember rite was built by Lil' John Buttera and painted by Don Kirby (Candy Red and Gold) and lettered by Kenny Youngblood and driven by Pat Foster. His cars were the best looking (IMO) and prepared, Ed Pink motors in the funny and Dick Arons and Wally Booth engines in the Pro Stockers. Man those were the days.

Dan the only Pro Stockers I can trace to Barry Setzer are 1971 427 Camaro and the 1972 Vega with a 331 small block in it, Bruce Walker drove both cars. I myself have never seen a picture of a older Barry Setzer Pro Stock car. Maybe he ran a Modified car like Paul Blevins did before going into Pro Stock. Back in the early 70's a car could bounce from A/MP to Pro Stock on a weekly basis. There was a guy called Rick Barrett that drove a inline 6 cylinder Ford Pinto in NHRA Modified class (I or G gas)then switch motor's and race Pro Stock at the local area shows. On the west coast Pro Stock shows you had Butch Leal,Sonny Bryant,Bill Bagshaw,Dick Landy,Bob Lambeck,Lee Hunter, Yuill Bros. man those were the days and some great racing.

Wasn't there a Barry Setzer funnycar that had the engine behind the driver or something to that effect?
