Hi all,
Dennis Dunio of Camaros Limited Nor-Cal turned me on to your great site.

He suggested I invite all of you with 1967-2002 Camaros to the Worldwide Camaro Association's Western Nationals in San Diego from Sept 4-8 at the Red Lion Hanalei Hotel. You can contact me at bricel67@att.net or the host club at www.heartbeatclassicchevys.com to get lots of details including a complete schedule and registration form.
Dennis is even leading a group from San Jose, CA to San Diego for the show.

See ya there,

Brian Birkeland, Worldwide Camaro Association California State Rep.

I'll know more tomorrow... As of now we are leaving SJ (Bay area) on Wed the 4th and staying in Santa Barbara that night. We'll finish the drive on Thur and will be there in time for the Welcome Party. The trip home is still in the air, I'd like to make it in 2 days (this is a VT after all) but we could do the 500+ on Sunday if necessary.

Any Generations or other Bay area Camaros wanting to go post up!! The hotel rate goes up after Aug 5th and the event rate goes up after Aug 1st so knows the time to act...

Okay, so here's what I'm going to do; fly down to San Diego on Thursday morning, go to Avis and rent a 2002 Camaro. I'll shine it up for the show, and just generally pretend like I own it. Return it on Sunday and fly home.

Scott.

Hey, I live here in San Diego and I didn't even know of this thing. Not sure my car will be out of the shop before then though. But, I would like to attend this thing if it is. What do you guys do? I haven't ever participated in this sort of thing....

Left - check out the page Brian linked to above. It use to be you had to be a WCA member to attend (WCA calls it a convention) the event but they have lifted that and anyone can participate. It's a great format and a whole lot of fun. The fact that it moves every year tends to be the only limiting factor to the whole thing IMO. I know there are many nice Camaros in the SD area and it would be great to see some of them. Your entry fee gets you a meal on thur night a cruise on friday a tee-shirt and goodie bag and into the judged show on saturday. There are tech sessions, swapmeet a dance and more!! Not bad for $45.00 if you ask me. Most 1 day events are $20 - $25 and you get a dash plaque.

for you Nor-Cal folks thinking about it we are leaving on Wed with a stop over in Santa Barbara (taking hwy 101) and then arriving in SD on thur. We will be returning to SB on sunday and making the final drive home early mondat morning. Shoot me an e-mail if you want to cruise with us. I got a message from Brian and he and a buddy are going over hwy 152 to the 5 and doing the 500 miles in one shot on wed. Anyone wanting to bonzi down there I know he'd love to have company as well. His e-mail is in his profile if you want to contact him..

Thanks Dennis & others for replies,

Yes, it will be a great show! Check out the details at www.heartbeatclassicchevys.com and get your entry form in ASAP.

Of course, you can caravan down with Dennis' group or my group. Just email us and we can hook up on the details.
