Default Center Console Repairs

I am in the process of repairing a used 1968/1969 center console for a 4-speed shifter. This thing must have been manhandled getting it out of the previous owners car, because now that I am taking it apart to clean/repair it, I am finding a bunch of places in the console where the plastic is cracked. Anyone have an idea as to what kind of glue works well with this plastic?

always had good luck with JB Weld. As long as its on the inside, you wont see it and color wont matter

In my Eastwood "Interior plastic repair kit" there was a cup of glue for this purpose, which smelled, looked, and worked just like Elmer's white...

lmao, then, some of the consoles I've seen, got to have tons of experiences to tell.

About the console repair, I've used epoxy &/or JB, even on some holes that show thru. Then I use the dremmel tool, with a thin bit, to simulate some texture to the flat surface that this adhesives leave. Just need to be a steady handed craftsman to produce an aceptable finish. After that, the paint covers most of the difference.

Thanks to all who responded to my post. I have repaired a few of the nastier cracks with some JB I have here at home. So far the repairs are turning out nice and the bond is super strong. Looks like there's hope for this 28 year old hunk of plastic after all.

http://plastex.home.att.net/
Plastex is easily the best stuff for repairing ABS plastic which is what your console is made of.
Nothing else works anywhere near as well.. trust me!
