Default Chassis Stiffening on COPO/ZL1/Dealer Cars

What, if anything, was done to the chassis on these 427ci cars when they were built? Do these (original) cars tend to show more wear and tear on the bodies (for example, do they show cracks between the roof/rear quarter)?

Thanks. -Neil

does nobody know??? i too have wondered this. Today i mild small block can do some damage to a first gen without frame connectors. I know the cars were more solid back in the day but those were some nasty big blocks put in those cars!! But then again the could never hook i would imagine on those old style tires. My first body crack was when i put on my slicks.

Nothing unique was done to the body or chassis on factory-built COPO/ZL-1 cars; they were just another car coming down the line, with a low-volume engine.
