Default Windshield Wiper Linkage

Getting ready to paint the windsield wiper linkage arms on the 67. This is kind of hard to explain, but here goes. Just below the splined portion that the wiper arm attaches to, should it be plated or painted? Are the rest of the arms supposed to be black or the color of the car?

Thanks
Chuck

I painted mine underhood black, not sure if 100% accurate though. I figured this part was dip primed too.

I believe the linkage was painted prior to installation of the ball being installed into the "socket". Therefore, the arms should be black, but the brass should be natural....at least that's the way I did mine

Correct - that's the way they came from the supplier.
