I have a 1973 restored camaro(i traded it for a 1992 jeep wrangler.....). It has a vinyl top. I myself have'nt seen any of these, and was just wondering if it was standard for the year, or more rare? This has 60,000 original miles on engine, and is built up with all edelbrock parts. Has a 350 turbo tranny with a b&m slapstick shifter. It also has 4:10 rears with superior axels underneath. Exterior is all redone with NO putty at all on car. Interior is all redone too. Kid said he spent over $12,000 doing it. He wanted a 4wheel drive, and winter was coming so i swapped even up. My wrangler had 92,000 miles on it. How'd i do? Lemme know what you all think, and thanks!! Have a great holiday!!!

Well since you're on a Camaro forum I guess nobody will say you did bad lol. But seriously, the Camaro is a classic and it's value will only go up. The jeep on the other hand will not for a long time. So be nice to it and you can't go wrong. You say it's restored but on this site restored means almost always its brought back to the way it left the factory.
Not all Camaros came from the factory with a vinyl top, but yours might. It's not very rare but even a Camaro that's not very rare is still pretty desirable. Try to get some pictures up if you can...we love pictures here!! |

Believe it or not, i found this car on ebay. The kid wanted $10,000 for it. For the heck of it, i emailed him to see if he wanted to trade. He initially wanted my jeep and $4000. I told him NO(i did'nt want to spend any money as my jeep was paid for). I sent him pics, and then he wanted at least $2000 more with the trade. Again, i told him NO. I said to let his auction run. I figured being so close to winter that he would'nt bring what he wanted. Well by chance, i was right. After the auction he called me and told me he wanted to trade plus $500. I told him ok. He drove up to my place(3 hours), and on his way up he said he definately wanted to trade. He needed a 4X4. He said it needed a rear main, and a torgue coverter. To make a long story short, I knew he was coming and he wanted to take my jeep back the same day. Well, i told him that i would let him take it if he fixed the rear main, and the coverter. He agreed, and took the jeep. The next weekend he delivered the car to me(fixed)on a trailer right to my doorstep...lol I only got to drive it once, as it was getting cold here. It runs like a raped ape, and looks even better!! I am trying to post the pics from ebay, and if they don't turn out, i at least left the auction #. Check it out, and get back to me. I think i did great!! Thanks for lookin. Again, vinyl top(rare or standard for 73). Thanks! Hopefully pics turn out! If not, the auction # in ebay is 4582246152.

I beleive you did great!!! I have not seen too many vinyl tops on gen2 camaros. Maybe the camaro guru's will chime in if it looks factory or top installed after it left the factory. check out http://www.nastyz28.com/ they are more into gen 2 camaros, where this is more of a first gen site. Great score !!!!! I would of done it!

Nice car it makes me sorry I sold my 72 Camaro it had a vynl roof when I got it and I took it off and there was a little rust around the trim line that I had to fix as most of the vynl covered roofs rusted. I sold that car after putting about 10K in rebuilding everything about two years ago for 9500.00 and it was a nice car at todays prices I think that same car would be worth closer to 13000.00 or more, so I think you got a good deal on this one you bought.
