Default 70 Z information needed

Hey all...do all 70 Z's say Z28 or 28 on the trim tag? Or was it a Norwood and Los Angeles thing. I have run across a car a guy claims is a Z (LA built car) but nothing on the trim tag...thanks!

Yes the trim tag should say z28 on it. but 1 thing to look 4 is the gas pedal should b bolted to the floor only 70 z28 did this.

A Norwood Car Can Either Say Z28 Or Just 28 On The Tag.mine Personally Says Z28 And 2 Others Locally Say Just 28.these Are All Canadian Documented Cars.......2 With Column Shift/no Consol

I looked at nastyz28.com and they say LA built 1970-71 Z/28 do not say Z/28 on the trim tag...only Norwood cars do. Does that sound right?

go to www.nastyz28 for 2nd gen info

NONE of the LA built cars say anything toi link them to a Z28 on the trim tag

however ALL z28's have the above mentioned alum spacers (although this was a well known fact during the 70's and a LOT of owners upgraded their SS with this part

ALL 70-71 Z28 have the "truck" style gas pedal that is hinged at the floor and attaches to two studs that go through the floow

ALL 70-72 Z have the 8k tach as well as the small rear bumper guards

IF an auto the trans is a Turbo 400, ONLY avail with the Z and the 396 cars
