ST 67-12437 NOR67135 TR 717Z F-F 4P VIN:124377N167167 The 4P and the 717Z are a little smashed. I did some research a few years back and have it in my head that it's a Marina Blue SS350 (it also has those emblems) with the white nose stripe. I know the engine (283) is not original. It appears that the rearend is also not original since it's a 10 bolt. The body has the square traction bar mounted to it but there's no place on the rearend to connect it to. Unfortunately the traction bar was cut off. But, shouldn't it have the round traction bar for the 350? I don't have any other info like the protecto plate or build sheet and I have the car almost completely dissasembled. What else can this tag tell me? Thanks,

Your trim tag breaks down as follows at the end. Does your car have any other options that you did not list above the 4p. For the radious rod according to the CRG yours should be round for the ss 350 car. You can look up their report on the subject at http://camaros.org/radiusrod.shtml
Also would you mind posting or sending me a picture of your trim tag. The people at CRG would also like this information. Have a great day, Mike 1 = Chevrolet 2 = Camaro 4 = 8-cylinder engine 37 = coupe body 7 = 1967 model year N = Norwood, OH assembly plant 167167 = vehicle serial number sequence Decode for body number: 067135 01A = Built the First week of January. 67-12437 = Standard Interior Coupe. NOR = Built in Norwood Ohio. 717 = Standard Blue Bucket Seats. Z = (A50) Strato Bucket Seats (without headrests). F-F = Car Color is Marina Blue B = Interior paint is Blue Options: 4P = (L48) SS 350 |

I'll try to get a picture of the tag tonight. It also has a fold-down rear seat, was that common?

Not exactly rare, but not an option you see on a ton of cars either.

Did you give all of the info from the cowl tag? If so, it does not show the fold-down rear seat. Is the car an auto or 3-speed stick car?

I'll look again tonight at the tag. It's a 3-speed stick.

Does the car still have the original trans? If so, can you get the production code off of it?

It's actually a 3 speed on the floor, I believe it was a hurst shifter. Here's a link to a photo of the tag. I couldn't post the photo directly in my text.
The line you're talking about I think is L 2L http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/campin...e2.jpg&.src=ph

(1)L is a fold down rear seat
2L is a 4 speed shifter Looks like that 3 speed isn't original to the car.

Not only is it not a 3-speed car, it may not be an SS. It may be a L30/M20 car. You need to do some more checking to determine just what the car is.
Where does the speedometer cable come through the firewall? |

Can you get us the axle code off the front of the passenger side axle tube also?
http://camaros.org/numbers.shtml#RearAxleNumbers I'd be interested to find out if this is an L30/M20 car.

You said in your first post that the traction bar was there but cut off? Could you post a picture of that please?

I'll post a pic of the traction bar tomorrow. There's about 4" of the bar left. The mount was bolted to the body (covering the fuel line), but the rear end has no place to bolt it to, so the rear is probably not original. Also, someone mounted coil springs on top of the axle tubes under the frame rails. Maybe this was some sort of home made lift kit?
On the speedo cable, I think it went through the driver side, the car is pretty much just a shell right now, don't remember exactly. I posted a picture of the coil springs at the URL below http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/campin...l308/my_photos
