Hey guys first post. I've been thinking of getting a split bumper and have only a vague idea of what they weigh. Does anyone have any #'s from your car? I'd like to get it at 3100 lbs with 160lbs driver, with a small block. Anyone at this weight, what did you do to get it there? Thanks for any help you can give.

That sounds awefully light for a Second Gen. car to me??
Have you been over to the "Second Generation Camaro Owners Group" site yet? Not trying to run you off, but I would also ask over there. pdq67 |

I don't know how "race" you want it. My 70 weighed 3300lbs without the driver (add another 215lbs for the driver). That was without a hood, no back seat, 6 ponit roll bar, aluminum dash board, aluminum door panels, small block with aluminum heads, aluminum radiator, trimmed inner fender wells, Weld Draglight wheels, 10 bolt 8.5", no sway bars.
To get down to the range you are shooting for I think you will need some fiberglass (fenders, doors, trunk, bumpers). A moly cage, and maybe lexan windows. I am pretty sure in stock form, they were ~3600lbs.

My '72 weighs in at 3030 lbs. It sports a 350 under a fiberglass hood and an auto trans with a ford nine inch. It has two racing bucket seats and the original back seat, light weight carpet and no roll cage. I also removed both wheel wells. I still have all the glass too, no Lexan. My friend had a '73 RS that was fully loaded that weighed in at 3440 lbs. My '71 Firebird also weighed in at 3440.

WOW! The scale I used must have been way off then. My car had to weigh less than your 72, well with the roll bar maybe slightly more.

3100 will be a stripped out car with some f/g. There are a couple guys on the 2nd gen site that are 3100 or less but there's not much left to take out.
My 80 with f/g hood front bumper and rad support removed along with the side crash bars weighed 3400. That was with p/w,p/l, and a 8 point rollbar.

I had mine weighed at a local moving company. Drive on type scale. I will see if I can find my notes on the car. Maybe it was 3300 with me in it. I don't think so though, I am pretty sure it was 3300 w/o driver.
