Default Mirror Help please

I am trying to find a passenger side mirror for my 67 Firebird
I hope some one here has some help, i realize the Firebird mirrors are different from a Camaro's but its most of the difference is the absence of the bowtie

I have a mirror from Classic Industries part #3909197
it works great on the driver's side

So i ordered the same mirror for the passenger side
Classic lists the mirror as LH or RH (reproduction)

I installed the mirror, and that wasnt a problem
But the mirror will not pivot inward enough so that i can actually use is, it stops way to soon to point in the right way

Then I ordered the 'GM' mirror also listed by Classic for LH or RH (#G7715)
Same problem, it will not point inward far enough to use

Please help, what mirror will actually work on the passenger side?

Thanks
Jon

both mirrors are exactly the same, part number and everything

the problem is that for the passenger side mirror to work the face needs to be at a higher angle than the driver side
the mirror are not designed with enough adjustment built in to work on the pass side

importkiller- its good to hear that im not the only one thats run into this crap
u got a link to the bullit mirrors? sounds interesting

alright so for anyone else that has run into this problem
i figured a way to make the repo mirror work

all i did was just bend it, the shaft bent fairly easily, but i took it slow and made the bend in like 5 tries
works great now and stays in place

good luck

Hey 400Bird what did you use to bend the shaft. I assume you mean the shaft coming up from the base and bent it toward the car window. Thanks.

no i did not bend the chrome part that comes out of the base

basicly i bolted the mirror to the car, grabbed the mirror part itself and just slowly forced it to go where i wanted it to...
the shaft that ends up bending has the pivot ball for the mirror on its end

if you need to i can take a picture

what I did on my camaro is put the "Hot Spor" Convex stick ons. I know this takes away from the factory originalit but it sure makes backing out of my driveway a lot easiesr. I consider it an investment in paint and body preservation..
