Default Carb Question

I have a carburator on my Chevy 350 that has a Edelbrock sticker on the front but states that it is a Weber on the side casting. Is this the brand Edelbrock uses? I am trying to ID the card it has a number of 1407-2911. Any ideas on if it is best to run a manual choke or electric? If electric, where can I find one?

I'm guessing this is a Q-jet?

Yes, Weber was still making q-jets well into this century...don't believe they are anymore, sadly. Perhaps someone can expound.

Yes, Edelbrock was slapping their logo on it (ugly, huh) and selling them for $4-500.

The choke type depends on the application,..their 1966-73 replacement q-jets utilized the 'divorced style choke' (the spring on a stove). Then there was the strange-looking 'hot air' set up of the mid-late 70's and the electric chokes were added for replacement carbs designed for 1980+ Chevy's.

Not sure of the part number you show,..what choke it was used with. Maybe there's info on Weber's site:

Good luck!
