Default spray vs. brush

I have a area approx. 1 inch wide by 4 inches long that needs to be repainted. Most of the area will be covered up by a outside mirror. My question is could I get away with using a brush to paint it on or should I mask the area off and spray the paint. Thanks!

you are probably going to have to wet sand and buff area when done ,it needs to be sprayed
