Default Intermitten horn

The horn in my 67 only blows when you hit the button a certain way. If you push the horn button on the side or bottom it doesn't blow. I assume that there is a contact somewhere in the button that can be fixed or replaced?

Joe, pop the horn cap off and look at the horn ring under the cap. It might be dirty or bent. Test the horn wire to ground and see if it works 100% of the time. If it does....you know the problem is with the cap.

Dave, is the horn ground wire located near the horn or somewhere else?

Joe, the horn wire is actually a contact that comes up through the turn signal cancel cam and is spring loaded so that it makes contact with the ring in the steering wheel. Just get a jumper wire ( a small piece of any gauge wire) and put one end on the contact and the other side to the steering column for a ground source....the horn should sound, if the problem is the horn button.

The spring that Dave refers to gets weak...give it a streech untill u get a new one
Also check the buttons, as Dave suggests, they get a bit bent/weak..need a slight bend to sit square.
