Are the original GM '67&'68 RS lower front valance panels the same? If there are any differences, what are they? I ask this as one came on my '68 and is not correct for it. I will need to get an orig. GM standard one. I want to make sure that I don't advertise this one incorrectly. Thanks for the help, Rick

Yenko-
They are the same. At least they join the rest of the body in the same manner. The only thing that is different is the r/s valance lights are mounted differently.

i looked this up and came up with two different part numbers. the parts book describes it as having extra support on the 68 mod.

Dino & Doug,
Thank you both for the info. I'm going to see how well I do at finding a very good GM standard valance. I want an orig. so I know it will fit like it should. I had a great idea about using the RS valance on my standard grill car. I was going to use the parking light holes and hook up front disc brake ducting to them!! It would also be functional at the Nevada Open Road Races. My girlfriend cringed at the thought of the parts being incorrect for my car. LOL

Yenko, Killer idea. They are different between the two years and its how the lights attach. One year used brackets and the other year used a lip that was attached to the valance (part of it). Hard to explain but they are slightly different. Check out a parts catalog, some show pictures and you can see the difference on the backside
