Default Engine oil leaks

Hey guys need your opinion on something. I have been driving my 67 with the new 434 around a lot and have noticed oil seeping from valve cover, intake frt and rr seals etc. It is not a large leak. seemed to start after switch to synthetic oil.

My valve cover gaskets keep getting saturated.I have tried all types of valve cover gaskets (steel/rubber,paper,and now the pricey felpro steel reinforced)

I did a search and read that my high volume oil pump may be pumping too much oil to my top end (no restrictors since its a street car) with my full roller setup. There is no leak at idle only after I take it out and run it hard.

My other theory is crankcase psi. I have one breather and a pcv valve. I'm guessing since my setup has lower then normal vacuum, On load the pcv is inop leaving just one breather for crankcase psi to vent. Possibly leading to some psi buildup and consequently oil leaks.

sbc dart block
afr heads
solid roller cam idles at about 11" vacuum
shaft rockers
high volume oil pump
vic jr
cast alum valve covers
high cap oil pan

Any ideas?

Thanks, Ray

Bingo! Most later engines come equipped with O-rings and machined grooves to avoid this event.

Off idle, vacuum increases, so its a mute point. There is a gauge to measure crankcase pressure, JC Whitney sells it.

Cool Re: Engine oil leaks

Get 25 Free Horse Power; But Only if you act NOW!
Yes friends it is that cure all to all your dilemmas, the panacea of power, and it can all be yours if you go to your phone and dial 1 800 230-3030 and ask for this amazing product. That number again is 1 800 345-4545 and ask for a Moroso three bladed vacuum pump. But hurry as this is a discontinued item and our inventory is moving fast. That's right friends our frenzied engineers and marketing people have added an extra blade to the vacuum pumps we sell all the big boys, so we can't give away a three bladed pump. But if you act now the last one on the shelf could be yours. Operators are standing by.
