I just purchased 4 cores and I believe (now) that I was sold all drivers side horns (stupid huh?). They all spiral the same way and I cannot tell which is a high note and which is a low note... I'd like to know if this is right or wrong before I send them out for restoration. Thanks!

They should have a circle with an H or L in the circle. Flip the horn over and there will be numbers on the end of the horn. Post those numbers and we can go from there.

The low horn most of the time was "blobed" out. On the other "ear" of the horn (opposite the date codes) is the part number. 9000 was cast in and the rest was stamped. Can you get those numbers and match up to the dates?
Horn #1: 9C1 year 9, month C (march) 1st week Horn #2: 1C9 year 1, month C (march) is the 9 right?? Horn #3: 8G4 year 8, month G (july) 4th week Horn #4: 0D4 year 0, month D (april) 4th week |

For all 4 horns, the # after the 9000 is: 289
I have all the same side horns, right? Thanks for all your help! |

Yep....now all you need is four #290 horns and you'll be in business!

Yup
I might have a high horn core that I will trade you for the 9C1 one. PM me if interested.

I just thought about this, but you might give Gary a call at The Horn Works. He's probably got plenty of #290 cores and you might can work up a swap of some kind. It's worth a shot!
