Default New to forum - need help on a '67 trim tag

I am new to the forum. My first hobby is snowmobiling so I am on the Snowest forums daily. My second is this '67 I have had in the garage a couple of years now. I have decoded the trim tag and find everything in line except I believe it is supposed to have a rear antennae but I beleive the rear quarter has been replaced.

The VIN# is 124377n114403

The cowl tag:

10A E
67-12437 NOR 14694
760-Z R-R
W2LSR 3L
4P

I know the R-R is Bolero Red , which is what the car is.

My concern is there is gold paint under the red in places under the hood and door jam areas. According to the trim tag, the car was made in October , 1st week. Is there also something in the VIN that says when it was made also?

OK - I guess there are a couple of questions there. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Todd

Sounds like a nice car. is the org drivetrain still in it? If so can you post the numbers off the front engine pad along with the side of the tranny and the numbers from the axle tube facing to the front of the car on the passengers side

Mahalo

1 = Chevrolet
2 = Camaro
4 = 8-cylinder engine
37 = coupe body
7 = 1967 model year
N = Norwood, OH assembly plant
114403 = vehicle serial number sequence

Decode for body number: 014694

10A = Built the First week of October.
67-12437 = Standard Interior Coupe.
NOR = Built in Norwood Ohio.
760 = Standard Black Bucket Seats.
Z = (A50) Strato Bucket Seats (without headrests).
R-R = Car Color is Bolero Red
E = Interior paint is Black
Options:
1W = (A02) Tinted W/S only
2L = (M20) 4-speed floor shifter
2S = (U73) Antenna Manual right rear
2R = (U80) Speaker rear
3L = (Z22) Rally Sport Package
4P = (L48) SS 350

Thanks Jeff. The antenna I was not certain about. I had the tranny out when I put a new clutch in. Did not think to write down the numbers off of it. Are they visible just by lifting the car? The guy I purchased it from stated it was a matching numbers car but I did not know enough at the time as-to where the engine numbers were and all. Just knew I wanted the car and the price was right ! It is a Muncie 4-speed with Hurst shifter. 12-bolt rear w/ posi I believe.

The sequence number in your VIN (114403) lines up perfectly with your 10A build date on your cowl tag. And yes, if the Muncie matches the car (original) then it has to be an SS as non SS cars didnt get Muncies. Nice Car!

The 4P wasn't used on L30/M20 cars until mid-December. It's an SS350.

Thanks guys !! I am going to grab the numbers off of the tranny and axle housing.

Does anyone have any thoughts about the gold paint under the red? The hood appears to be original paint as it has the spidering effect ( for lack of better terms ) that I was told was a result of basically a lacquer they used back then. Did someone waant it to be gold at some point? That doesn't seem like a likely choice. One guy saw it and said it could have been a primer color?

Thanks again,

Todd

It could be an original part, just maybe not original off of your car. The hood could have been replaced with another used hood if your original one was damaged by an accident of some kind, or even hail.
