Default adjusting transmission

when I put my car in park sometimes it will slowly roll forwards, but if I give the shift lever a little push forwards it will lock in. (powerglide automatic). I am in the habit now of always using my parking brake just in case. I have heard that you can make an adjustment that will stop this from occuring, does anyone know how to do it?

I read it to be console shift.

Place shift lever into Park. Underneath the car, loosen the locknuts on the linkage of the lever. Pull back the trans shift lever, this will place the trans into park. Tighten up the locknuts, you might turn the rear locknut an extra turn to give the linkage rod an extra "push."
