Question 1986 Iroc-Z

Hey Guys, Im in Iraq right now fighting, but before I left I bought a 86' Iroc Z and had a 350 Vortec and Vortec Trans put in it. Im pretty new to the muscle trend but I love it and want to make a fast ride out of this motor. Any suggestions on what I should do to make this thing a beast?

It has a QuadraJet and normal 350 heads though... so I suppose I need to get vortec heads.

Any help woud be great. Thanks.

I can't help you on your 3rd gen Camaro engine questions, but I can take a moment to say.

/Salute and Thank You for your courage for being where you are defending our freedoms. Come home safe when you can.

if you want good vortec heads try RHS (racing head services).
a vortec motor without vortec heads is pretty much a regular small block, but if it is really a vortec block you should already have a roller cam and lifters, a definate advantage.
you didn't specify what intake you have, but i'd suggest an edelbrock performer rpm vortec intake.
the biggest problem with the third generation camaros is that the torque arm makes running true dual exhaust diffucult (not impossible though)
plenty of great advise here for any performance chevy engine! for mor specific details on your particular body style, try http://www.thirdgen.org there are a lot of newbies there, so take your time and figure out who really knows what they're talking about!
for mechanical advise, you can't beat Team Camaro though!

Cool Re: 1986 Iroc-Z

I have looked up the heads, and intake, and I am planning to get what you suggested.

I was tol that I should go with a 700 series Carb. Is this true or should I go wtih something else. Also is MSD my best bet for a good ignition?

Thanks for the Help
