Just heard on the news that GM will be announcing that the 2008 Camaro is a go!! Dont know if they will stick to the prototype from the Detroit auto show but it definately is gonna be built.
Now here is a question for all the pro tourers. Do you think that the introduction of this retro style camaro will hurt, help or not affect the price of our pro touring rides?? With a car that is gonna go for around 30,000 brand new, have all the styling, comforts and power of modern tech, and look alot like the first gen camaro, the only question that comes to mind is why spend 50K+ on our pro touring builds when you can have something very similiar for around 30-35 loaded and warrantied??? I don't think it will affect the value of the pro tourers at all. You are comparing a brand new car (which IMHO, does not look "alot" like the first gen) with a 40 year old classic. You would be comparing apples to oranges. Those who want a classic will still buy a classic, those who want a new car, will buy a new car. The perfect scenerio would be to own both!

Funny how perceptions can be different.
There are a bunch of us old farts who feel the car ISN'T retro, and we wish it WAS. |

Not sure what you consider an old fart...I'm 55 so I guess I am. And I'm another who wishes it was more retro. I'm ready for a new car in a year or two....just waiting to see the new Camaro close up and personal. Then I'll decide who'll be getting my money this time around.

Someone needs to start a poll, or 2. One with a pic of the new camaro, challenger and mustang, (true manufactures pics not dream machines pics), choosing the one you like in current stated production looks. Then the other poll states who voted which way 50 and over (oldfarts),35 to 49(middle aged crisis farts),20 to 34 (young gun farts) no one under 20 please you'll get your turn when you're old enough.

I am 63 years old i have a 1969 camaro my favorite year camaro. The new camaro doesn't look as good as the 1st. generation camaros but it looks a lot better than the 4th. generation camaros do.
