So this should make an original '69 worth, what........................250k?
I work for a new car dealership (tech), and this stuff makes me sick! People are totally taken advantage of, and they know it, but they pay non the less. "Its what the market will bare"

On the one hand I have no moral qualms with dealers doing this; if people want it, and people wish to pay it, and are fully educated about what they're entering into, all the power to them.
On the other hand, I've never seen Range Rover or Mercedes dealers do it (on new vehicles, anyway... I do see it on new "used" models). For a $1000 depoit ahead of time, I purchased two "hard to get" vehicles early in their production in (BiTurbo CL600 and Supercharged Range Rover) at MSRP. So it does make Chevy dealers look overly mercinary. On the flipside of that equation is what happens when a dealer network does NOT "gouge" early models: someone buys them at MSRP and flips them days later to the same people that would have bought it from the dealer had the dealer been willing to gouge. Since its going to happen one way or the other, it might as well be dealer making the profit.

With all the hype we can expect dealers to mark up the cars above msrp when they get them. With stuff like this it will set teh bar for the mark up... It will be GM's loss in the long run...

Wasn't a dealer doing this with the new challenger? I seem to remember that Chrysler stepped in and stopped them.
