I have a new computer and don't have burning software for it. What do you guys suggest I get in order to burn with. Is there a way around the copyright laws so you can burn movies that you rent? Not that I would ever do that. Thanks, Darren

I have both Nero and IBM Sonic RecordNow. I prefer Nero for music cd's as it allows you to vary the burn speed. But now I mostly make MP3/WMA CDs, so the speed isnt as much of an issue, and the RecordNow is easier for data discs (has an append option, which I havent found on the Nero program).
As far as the copyright stuff, Ive never had an issue with music. I dont have a DVD burner, so that might be different. dave

You'll need from google:
patin-couffin driver DVDShrink 3.2 and DVD43 (Www.dvd43.com) Install the patin-couffin driver, reboot, install dvd43, reboot, install dvdshrink. DVDShrink is one of the finest products for ripping movies, lets you selectively transfer just what you want and will recompress large 7.8gb dvds onto a 4.7gb disc if needed without any quality loss. patin-couffin driver and dvd43 allow your system to 'NOT RECOGNIZE' that its a copyrighted movie dvd, ie it blocks your systems ability from detecting that its a production dvd and fools it into thinking its just a home movie dvd. DVDShrink can 'build' an ISO image file from the original DVD movie, then you can burn that ISO With NERO or Roxio or whatever cd burning software your computer came with. Any new computer will come with basic burning software if it came with a dvd burner. |

I used Brain's advise on this thread and everything had been working great all this time, but all of a sudden I can't burn DVD's anymore. Any suggestions on where I should start? Thanks, Darren
