Default 3rd gens

ive finally picked out the style wheels that im going for on my black 88' 3rd gen. These in 16s. American Racing Torq Thrust II's



my question is, what kind of back spacing am i going to need if i get 11" wide for the back and 9" for the front, also what size tires? thanks!

I don't know too many here that have 3rd gens, but you might get an answer from one of them. For a specific question like this, I bet you'll find the specs you'll need over at http://thirdgen.org

What tire are you putting on a 16x11?? It probably will not fit in the back of that car.

Nice choice in shoes.Try 17"by9.5"with 275/40/17 rubber.A friend has a set on an 89 Z28 and they look very sharp.I will ask him and find out backspace.

Here is my 3rd gen:

Rear: 17x9.5 (5.5 backspace) with 275-40-17 tires
Front: 17x8 (4.5 backspace) with 245-45-17 tires

Search on '17x11' over at thirdgen.org. You'll find plenty of info there. In my opinion, the 11" wide wheels are just too wide and stick out of the wheelwell too much for my taste.
