Default 1967 camaro Starter Problem

I have a problem with my starter. It doesn't crank when the engine has been running for a while. at first, I thought the problem could have been that the heat from the headers was messing up the Solenoid but when it doesn't crank from the ignition, I am able to crank it manually with a screw driver at the starter.

I've asked around and some people are telling me it's an ignition problem with others are saying I should changed the starter.

Does anyone have an opinion? I would greatly appreciate any input....

Bad connection. I'd look at the bulkhead connector first. They are a common failure point.

This happened to me once and it turned out to be the main purple wire. It was too close to the heater hoses and when things got hot it would not crank with the key. I rerouted it and covered it with a heat covering.

thanks for the responses. It happened once more. This time I wiggled the connection at the bulk head and it started right up. it looks like Go2fast hit it on the head! I will disconnect the bulk head, silicone the connections and reconnect them. Hopefully, this will solve the problem. Again, thanks. I was about to order a new starter!
