This is going to sound like a totally stupid question, so I guess youre allowed to laugh
Im in the process of assembling a camaro (68 rs/ss) i got in buckets, literally completely disassembled. Im now at the interior and as Im putting it all back in, I figure I need to replace a few pieces. But the big question is, do I have the standard interior or deluxe? How do you tell? OK Ill wait till youre done laughing. ![]() The reason I ask is because 90% of my interior is in almost perfect condition, except a door panel, so I might want to replace that. I dont know if I get a deluxe set of door panels (assumably have to replace both at the same time) they will fit a standard rear door panel or vice versa. When I look online at the resto shops, they use one standard image for all their door panels so I cant compare them to what I have. Thanks bob |

I believe the door panels will have an arm rest that is molded into panel and the standard have a bolt on style. The inside deluxe door handle will pull out and the standard will pull up. I'm not for sure about seats but they should have some sort of white stripe in them. I am more of a 69 man myself. Another thing you can do is look at Classic Industries book or someone like them.
Good luck. P.S. This was not a stupid question. If my ex-wife asked for me to loan her money, now that's a stupid question.

The pleats on the standard seats go length ways on the seat and up down on the seat backs. The delux seats have the pleats going across the seats and more padding.

Unless you are planning to change the whole thing including the handles and cups etc. stay with what you have because they use different components. On a '67 like mine that the deluxe panel has a larger armrest than that on a '68/'69 there's even a sheet metal bracket reinforcement under the armrest to take the load on the armrest. Tha standard panels are all flat with bolt-over hardware. I'm not sure what you mean by rear doors but the rear quarters are the only flats on deluxe, but require also a bracket for the ashtray if so equipped 'cause it's not flush and becomes the armrest. dluxepanels will fit, however, because they are flat like i said. Convertible ones have extra material to fill the extra thickness of the assembly there. Hope it helps.

What does your cowl trim tag say for trim? It should be the last line and be preceded with TR followed by three numbers. That will tell you what the car originally had for interior.
