Default P1441 - Manufacutrer Control. Auxiliary Emission Controls

Hey guys,

I've been getting a SES code for a while. I would clear it and it would stay off for a few weeks then come back on. My OBDII tester reads "P1441 - Manufacturer Control. Auxiliary Emission Controls". Just wondering if anyone has an idea of what it might be. Thanks guys!

BTW I have a 1997 Camaro RS 3.8...103k miles.

Go to a smog station and ask them to decode it b/c they should have ALL codes!!

I would decode it for you, but I think our I/M Unit Chief at work sent his big decode book to the St. Louis office??

If Haskins doesn't have the big book, I will e-mail Chuck to try to find out...

Will get back.....

disconnect the purge solenoid connector and attach a vacuum pump to the evap side.Increase idle speed to 1500 rpm.If you register vacuum, replace the purge solenoid. If the solenoid passes, then you will need a scan tool to monitor evap parameters to accuratly diagnose p1441.

Okay, so Mark can read primary numbers and I can't ...
Actually I just had that code P1441 on a family car - it was a bad solenoid.
Sorry for the mis-lead on the 1141 code
