Question of curiousity for you pro touring guys. When using a rear suspension that makes the rear seats unable to fit what did you do to overcome this. I know when hot rod magazine built there dynacorn camaro they built a custom box in the trunk for there audio system and you could do something similiar for the trunk or rear floor panel or both for that matter I suppose. I curious as to the different routes you guys have taken this. Thanks ahead of time and any pics would be cool too.

lose/modify the rear seat. It really depends on how much the links intrude inside the car.

I plan on narrowing my rear seat, another option is to use 2 piece rear seats like the fourth gen camaro

You may want to search a little through the project section of DSE's website. If your going with any of the suspension arrangements that they have eg. 4 link or leafs using offset shackles, you should be able to use your stock seat. I mini tubbed my car and basically re-routed the support steel frame of the seat to accomidate space for the tubs. Looks dead stock.

67 Ragtop do you have any pictures of yours? I'm getting ready to do my vert and everyone says I have to trim down my seat 2 inches?
Thanks

I was checking out the lateral dynamics 3-link from another thread and was wondering if any of you have experience with using there suspension. From the looks of it you couldn't use your rear seat but then again I've never seen it in person. Can you modify your rear seat to fit with there suspension? Or do you have to go a different route as it seems to appear in the pictures. Thanks.

Of all the rear suspensions from what I have heard and read theirs is the best., With DSE's Quadra Link in 2nd. Heres a link for Lateral Dynamics http://www.lateral-dynamics.com/ that has some real good info on the rear end, installation, what you will need to do with the rear seat area, etc. Tyler at ATS can answer any questions you may still have but I doubt you will have any as their site is very, very helpful and infomative.

Unfortunetly there are not many cars with their three link on the road yes because they so new to the market. However, if you look at the design numbers(e.g. roll center height, anit squat, side view swing arm length etc) they came up with a pretty good design. (disclaimer, I know LDs owner and their former design engineer) DSEs quadralink is another well thought out design. |

The deluxe interior uses a narrower rear seat due to the arm rests. This is the same seat as a convertable I believe. It's narrower, to clear the rear armrests.
I haven't measured it, but it's probably close to 3" shorter on each side. If you install a roll bar, you won't ever use your rear seat, it just isn't safe, plus you can't get in there! David
