it is a 69z28 it had a 302 4 speed now has a 396 4 speed dough nash trans 12 bolt post 8000 tac concole with gauges dis brakes i can not find the n173 code help

The "N173" is an internal scheduling code used in the Los Angeles/Van Nuys assembly plant.

I am curious how you know it is a Z/28? Van Nuys cars are impossible to verify without paperwork or an original engine with a real DZ stamp and partial VIN stamp. One clue is to look for the build sheet above the fuel tank for verification. I started with an X33 body and original diff and went from there also.
