If anything, it might get people thinking again about how cool the first generation Camaros were, and increase demand for one.

That is just what I am thinking.
The car has been out of the public eye for a while now. Once it is back in showrooms, it will increase visibility and spark some renewed interest or new comers to the classic car market for sure

Think the new would look good with stripes as the First Gen? Be nice to have a 69 and '09 side by side in the same garage, same color.

I've seen a few photoshops of 5th gen cars with the front end bumble bee stripe, they don't flow to well on the new body

Bumble Bee is for Mopar... you are correct, they dont look good. thinking too that something on the new car would have to change in order for the stripes to look right. But what? Maybe the car needs to be broken up with two colors, say mid level. New car is larger than a 69, isn't it? or is it the wheels that make it look that way?

Bumblebee stripes on a first gen look great IMO
I have seen renderings with hockey stripes on the side of the 5th gen, those look better to me
