I listed a 327 short block as a 68 327. This is what I was told almost 20 years ago. Well I am wondering now what is, after someone wanted info from the numbers. I came up different in my searching. So will someone with the know how break this down and tell me what I am selling, so I dont screw someone up trying to restore a car right. Front of block in front of head on block as follows VO107FB and back of block numbers are 3956618.
Lets see if you match what I have found in my old info. Thanks for help. |

"FB" = 1955 and 1956, 155hp/265, 4-barrel Power-Pack, P/G Trans. car and truck and
1969, 235hp/327,2-barrel, Big Car. So if it has side motor mount casting bosses, it's the '69 motor! pdq67 |

Ok, new question. FB comes back as a 69 327. So i went and looked at the date code. It is A 3 8 which comes to be Jan 3rd 1968, why would a 69 327 FB block be dated that early in 68 or I could be misreading the 8 that might be a 9. But it sure looks like a 8. any info on this early of date in 68 for a 69 FB block? Thanks for your thoughts. Just doing alot of searching for someone interested in the block for restoring a car back.

I kinda doubt if they sold all that many 327's back then vs 350's so it may just be an engine that was assembled and never installed right off the bat and just put in storage until it was needed to finish an ordered car??
