Hello Everyone,
I am a 17 year old girl and I seem to get a lot of crap for driving a '89 camaro. Everyone tells me that I shouldnt be driving that kind of car, and that i can not handle it.. Nothing makes me more upset then that. Unlike the majority of my friends .. I LOVE cars.. My camaro is in pretty good shape, there is just some things i still need to do to fix it up more. But i cant seem to get my dad to help me, because he thinks i should sell it and get a different car, That is that LAst thing i want to do. I guess what i am getting to is that hopefully there would be somethings i could learn on here from people to help me fix up my baby..lol .. And of course with me being only 17 i am on a budget, So if anyone has any recommedations they would be very much appreiciated..

Don't worry many of us (including me) are short on cash but high on encouragment. Do what you need to! since its an 89 it shouldn't be in too bad of shape hopefully. The people on these boards will always help.

First advice for you is to use the search function to see if your questions have already been answered.

Most of us have had our Camaros for years and are never finished. There is always something to do one these so hang in there and just keep getting things done...one thing at a time. Oh.. BTW, why not have your Dad come here and visit, read the posts and look at the members car photos. It may inspire him to help you on your car !

Thank you everyone! At least i see that you guys are cool with me driving it!.. That makes me happy! .. lol it feels good to be excepted!.. But thanks for your advice already! I will get to searching.. First thing i probally need to find in a new rim so i can get my Nice looking rims back on .. but the problem is that I only need 1 but im sure there is one out there somewhere.. Then new tires to go on the rims ..cuz my are SOooo Bald!. but i have to get a rim 1st.. Grrr I have been looking all over but they are just the sets.. I may have to buy a whole new one..We will see what happens!..

Do us a favor, add your real first name to your signature, and perhaps the state that you live in, we are a friendly bunch and like to know who we are talking to.

Also, how about putting up a pic of your car?

As for the rim you need, I'd guess one can be found, quite possibly here. Wheels changed a lot depending on year and model, an exact description and a good pic will send the guys pawing thru their basements.

Kevin's suggestion to have your dad check us out is a good one. Is he any kind of "car guy" at all? If he's not, perhaps we can help him understand, and if he is, perhaps he can come to see that it's OK for his daughter to be a "car guy" too.

Thank You everyone!.. I have actual pictures of my car, and at the moment i dont have a scanner..So tomorrow after work i will have to take a picture on the digital camara.. And i will probally have to wash her up some..lol cuz i had to go to my aunts house for Thanksgiving in the country and had to go on gravel roads..But i will get her all clean and get a pic on here.. And just to let you guys know.. I know somethings about cars..not TONS yet(I want to learn more, and more(Everything) about them!) Im not sure what kind of rims they are that i need. but maybe i can find a picture and post it?..I will see what i can do

OK I found a picture of the kind of rim i need.. so if anyone could tell me what kind it is .. that would be great... It would be a better starting point to finding one then just saying well it is crome and it kinds looks like a star because that narrows it down to almost every kind!.. lol well here it is and it is for an '89 camaro (RS)

Welcome. Those rims are pretty much standard if you call the local junkyard and such, you just may find what your looking for. Atleast in pittsburgh those rims are a dime a dozen.

Yup, standard thirdgen factory alluminum wheel, should be pretty easy to find one in a boneyard.
