Exclamation Trans replacement for 94 Z28

hey guys. Im looking to replace/rebuild my automatic transmission in my 94 Z28. What would be the best idea? Replace or rebuild? If replacing is the way, what fits and whats best for the money....Looking for street and strip capabilities. Thanks in advance.

Many people here will say 2004r, but you would need a new driveshaft. I would find a good transmission builder in your area and have him build you a good 700r4.

The transmission in your car is a 4l60E. This is a good tranny. You can either price your local shops for a rebuild to your specs or get a new one. There are more than a few "built" 4l60E's on ebay if you wish to go that route. The 4L is a 700R4 that is improved. Not only can you electronically set the shift points, but it is also stronger and less prone to overheat. Unless you are looking for big power, just rebuild your original tranny as it will hold up fine to upwards of 400 hp if not beat up. This avenue is the easiest and most cost affective.
