Default Big Sway Bar??

I was in the junkyard earlier this week scrounging parts for another project-my 79 TransAm.The donor car was a 79 Formula 'Bird, prettty well picked over but it does have the same monster front sway bar as my WS6 TA does.Is there any chance that bar would fit on my first-gen Z/28? I know the differences between front-steer,rear-steer,etc,I'm just hoping to get lucky here. The existing front bar on the Camaro is tiny,I've seen bigger drinking straws!

I think they might be as big as 1-1/4" to maybe 1-5/16"??

Don't think it will fit....

And you can buy 1-1/8" for our cars if you want a big one up front..

They are the same width eye to eye! But the second gen bar would have to mount more forward on a first gen and the tire would hit the arms on sharp turns. There is a difference in frame rail width so the second gen mount area is probably different. The second gen bars had to be thicker because the arms are almost twice as long.

Check out third gen IROC and TA hollow bars, I'm pretty sure they are the same as Second gen bars. Most of the third gen rear bars would transfer to either a first gen or second gen F body.
