Post Mono leaf versus Multi Leaf

What are the pros and cons of each. I have asked around but haven't got any good info. Does anybody have a good idea?

Mono's and slapper's and coil-over overload springs are fine in my book!!

Cheap way of setting up a darn good rear too, imo.........

This has been discussed here a number of times, and I sat on the sidelines most of the time and posted on a few but what I gather is this: monos have a better ride quality, but wheel hop badly if your gettin on it...something that can be remedied with a set of traction bars that are long enough to put the pressure point at the front of the sping under the front shackle. The competition engineering brand seemed to be the general consensus as one of the best. Multis...which most of the racers on this site swear by,have a stiff ride quality but generally dont have the wheel hop problems that monos do.Personally I've had both on my car and i hated the multis. The car just handled terrible, didnt corner well etc.I'm back to the monos now and love them ...But I'm a handling guy not a real drag-race guy and I'm not gonna race my car ever again,we've been together since I was 16 some 25 years now and it has been in many racing battles and survived without a major mishap...so those days are over.I am however considering the 3 leaf multi set up from Hotchkis which gives what i have read to be the best of both worlds...multi utility with mono ride, you should go to David Pozzi's web site...wealth of info there and a real smart cat...he's on this website from time to time also...all this is just my opinion and what Ive learned here and my own experience.

Monos don't always have hop problems..
I drove around for years with nothing but stock monos, standard shocks, and M/T Indy Profile SS G60-15 tires behind a healthy 454, and with that reasonable traction and plenty of torque, it never ever once wheel hopped.

Could be how the pinion angle is set.. I have a 9" with a very good pinion angle according to my chassis guru friend..

Mono's have less unsprung weight, not by much, and a better ride.

Mono's really have a worse problem with wheel hop on the 67s than on the later models due to the non-staggered shocks on the 67s.

I think of them from time to time. If I haven't came up with any, I'll read them.
